What is coaching?

A reputed businessman recently commented on our coaching journey with him. He said, "Mr. Gümüssoy when we started our coaching sessions, I thought you were going to pull a rabbit out of a hat." But instead, I realized that together we identified the rabbit in the hat, and then I pulled it out. This makes me extremely happy.

Coaching is a process of becoming aware of our characteristics, intelligence types, and skill sets and developing the areas with potential in a planned and consistent manner.

Coaching targets a positive new beginning.

Process of Coaching

Coaching is a long-term process that requires attention to detail and meticulous work.

The correct management of the coaching process and the complete implementation of the methods when necessary are two main conditions.

During the coaching process, the coach uses scientific methods and works with the principle of equality by offering alternatives. Throughout the whole working process, the coach develops a perspective that focuses only on the present and future. In no way can the coach use methods that will result in dwelling on the past for himself or herself or the coachee.

The coaching process consists of coaching sessions with well-defined contents and boundaries. Additionally, various surveys, tests, activities, and games are used to support this process.

Why Coaching is needed?

Since we are influenced more by external than internal motivations, "what they say" and "what we want them to say" affect our perceptions. Our perceptions turn into tendencies, tendencies to wishes, wishes to passions, and passions to needs.

Our life experiences, things we have seen and heard, attractive life impositions, and beautiful marketing campaigns have turned some needless things into basic needs. So, we are most disappointed when we try to fulfill all of our wishes with the resources we have.

These disappointments leave us feeling empty, which can lead to aimlessness, aggression, inability to focus, poor time management, family conflicts, depression because of the feeling of "not being understood," and unbalanced responses.

Coaching is for people who are open to change and who want to live a peaceful, successful life by adapting to new things.
