History of Coaching

Coaching started in the United States in the 1970s, aiming to support athletes, and became a successful profession in this field. During this time, an approach was developed in which coaching included mental actions in addition to physical activities.

During the 1990s, "coaching" became more than just a sports profession. Professional coaches were successfully used in business circles in the United States and England. This has accelerated the scientific approach to coaching. Since then, academic studies have been conducted in many countries in this field.

Since the 2000s, coaching has become an academically widespread concept that is used all over the world and in many different areas of life. Universities have developed certificate programs, and other institutions have developed different accreditation programs for professional coaches.

Professional coaching is now used successfully in many areas of life, including education, business, daily life, sports, family relationships, career development, and many more.
