• Contracting: agreeing on the scope and results of coaching and creating basic rules for working together
• Listening actively means actively listening to the coachee by mirroring his or her words, thereby helping to understand the present situation.
• Exploring: exploring the effects of coaches' present behaviors as well as identifying areas and options for potential changes
• Action: helping the coachee prepare a realistic plan for making desired changes
• Review: Evaluating the behaviors of the coachee and the effects of the coaching relationship on him or her
